What is the LEADS Program?
LEADS is a program designed to provide you with the tools for a successful future. We offer innovative classes to build skills, experience, and connections. LEADS classes are open to any undergraduate student interested in classes that focus on gaining real-world experience, creative problem-solving, and developing career skills. We offer LEADS for your future success by providing opportunities to:
- Learn by doing
- Develop valuable career skills transferable to a wide range of settings
- Gain real-world experience, including course-based experiential internships

Who can participate in leads?
LEADS is open to new freshmen, continuing students, and transfer students. Whether you plan to directly enter your career or attend graduate or professional school following your undergraduate degree program, LEADS is for you!
How do I get involved?
There are a variety of ways to connect with LEADS and many options to customize your LEADS experience to your personal interests and needs.
- You can choose to take just one course with LEADS.
- You may complete several LEADS courses.
- You can set out to earn the LEADS undergraduate certificate in Innovative Thinking and Problem Solving.
leads Courses & certificate program
LEADS offers a variety of classes each fall, spring, and summer term. The topics for LEADS classes rotate each semester and are offered for credit ranging from 1 to 3 credit hours and in full-term and partial-term terms.
You can also choose to declare the LEADS certificate in Innovative Thinking and Problem Solving, which will be noted on DegreeWorks and your academic transcript.
