Welcome to Organizational Communication at UNC Charlotte!
Welcome to the Organizational Communication concentration within the Department of Communication Studies! Organizational Communication is the study of human interaction within organizations as well as the management of organizational behavior. We take a constitutive view of organizational communication, meaning, we focus on how the elements of communication, rather than being fixed in advance, are constructed within the act of communication itself. Thus, the courses we provide have a balance of both theory and practice. In this track, students will learn how to think, speak and write clearly, which are all vital skills for being successful at work. And you will also begin to understand the multicultural nature of communication in contemporary workplaces. Our graduates get jobs in a number of different workplaces including public, profit and non-profit organizations.
