Dr. Min Jiang recently published two journal articles: (1) Jiang, M. (2024). Models of state digital sovereignty from the Global South: Diverging experiences from China, India and South Africa in Policy & Internet, 16(4), 727-738; (2) Jiang, M. (2025). Chinese Internet policies: Historical reflections and new research directions in Communication & The Public.

On February 20th, Dr. Margaret Quinlan served as the moderator at the Personally Speaking Event titled: “Invasive Prenatal Genetic Testing: Perspectives on Disability Rights and Reproductive Justice, part of the CHESS Personally Speaking Series. During the event, Dr. Quinlan introduced speakers and moderated questions from the audience.

On February 11, 2025, Dr. Min Jiang presented a talk titled “The Internet Age from PC to AI” at the Independent Picture House as a part of the UNC Charlotte Ginkgo Residential Guest Speaker Series.

Dr. Bibi Reisdorf recently proposed an international panel on technologies and incarceration for the 2025 International Communication Association, which was accepted. Additionally, Dr. Reisdorf received news that a workshop on digital inclusion and incarceration that she proposed was accepted for the 2025 Net Inclusion Conference

Dr. Erin Basinger recently published an article titled “Dialogue on difference: Fat liberation in communication” in Communication Monographs with colleagues Arroyo, A., Asbury M. B., Fox, R. Otis, H.
