About Us

The Department of Communication Studies is one of the largest majors in the College of Liberal Arts & Sciences at the University of North Carolina at Charlotte. The Communication Studies discipline focuses on the theoretical, critical, and scientific study of how humans communicate with one another in all of its forms.

The Department of Communication Studies offers the following curricular programs:

• B.A. in Communication Studies
• An M.A. in Communication
• An interdisplinary doctorate in Organizational Science
• Minors in Communication Studies and Journalism

The department provides students with a variety of extracurricular and co-curricular experiences, several scholarships , and an active internship program, with undergraduate interns working at many of the top corporations, agencies, television stations, and radio stations in the metropolitan area.
