Communication Studies Department Recognized for Excellence in Planning & Assessment

On April 23rd, the Communication Studies Department was recognized for Excellence in Planning and Assessment by the Office of Assessment and Accreditation. The BA in Communication Studies Program was recognized for Excellence in Program Curriculum for the removal of Pre-Communication Studies, which was noted as a “student-centered change” that “fosters and encourages student success.” Additionally, the MA in Communication Studies Program was recognized for Excellence in Student learning Outcomes Assessment for including graduate students in the assessment process in their first year in the program, providing them the opportunity for formative feedback. The speaker remarked that he inclusion of students in the assessment process “should be the model for other programs to follow.”
