PRE-COMMUNICATION STUDIES ADVISING
Pre-Communication Studies majors are advised in the College of Liberal Arts & Sciences Advising Center.

Students are initially classified as Pre-Communication Studies (PCOM) majors until they meet the following requirements:
- Earn a grade of C or above in:
- COMM 1101 Public Speaking
- COMM 2100 Intro to Comm Theory
- STAT 1220 or 1222 Intro to Statistics
- You must also maintain a cumulative GPA of 2.0 or higher.
COMMUNICATION STUDIES ADVISING
Communication Studies majors are advised by the departmental Academic Advisor or assigned faculty advisors. Advising is recommended after students matriculate into the major and at least once per year. Appointments may be made via Connect.

REPEATING A COURSE
Students will not be able to immediately register for a course if credit has already been earned for that course. If you attempt to register for a course in which you have previously earned credit, the error message “Repeated Course” will appear. If you feel there is a need to repeat a course, you will need to request a repeat override from your Pre-Communication Studies advisor, or your Communication Studies advisor if you are fully declared.
GENERAL EDUCATION:
All students must complete general education requirements in addition to selecting any majors or minors. All students must meet a minimum of 120 credit hours in order to graduate. Click on the link below to see the requirements.
